Sheriff: Man stabbed, hit by vehicle Meeker County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident involving a man found on the roadside Friday afternoon on 600th Avenue near 230th Street. Galen Serbus, 50, of Olivia was transported to Meeker Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.

Making progress on wastewater

Progress appears underway in a monthslong standoff between the city of Litchfield and First District Association’s wastewater treatment plans. After a 2014 miscalculation by a wastewater engineer resulted in less-than-optimal outcomes when the city’s new wastewater treatment plant went online a few years ago, FDA proposed plans for its own pretreatment of effluent.

DANIEL THOMAS FARLEY

Daniel Thomas Farley, 79, of Channahon, Ill,, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family October 25, 2023. A service will be held July 8, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Philip’s Church in Litchfield. Visitation will be held 30 minutes before the service. Lunch will be served after the service. Daniel was born in Litchfield, the son of Thomas and Katherine Farley. On May 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Beverly Nygaard of Grove City. He is survived by his wife Beverly of Willmar, their son Randy and his wife Kristy, their children Danny, Mason and Lacie, grandson Greg Dressel of Minnesota, and three great-grandchildren, Layla, Aaliyah

Janet Lundin, 90, of Litchfield passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Ecumen of Litchfield. Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with interment in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. LEE JAY HARRIS

November 9, 1956 - April 22, 2024 Lee Jay Harris, 67, of Minneapolis died on April 22, 2024, at M Health Fairview in Minneapolis. Lee was the son of Dale and Blanche (Boquist) Harris, born November 9, 1956, in Litchfield. He was the third of three children. Lee attended high school at Edison High School in Northeast Minneapolis. After high school Lee worked at various jobs until starting work at Old Dutch in July of 2005. Lee worked there for nearly 19 years until his death. He liked his job and coworkers. Lee enjoyed watching the Vikings, Twins and the Wild. Lee was preceded in death by his parents and oldest sister Denise. He is survived by his sister Brenda (Chris Dockter) Harris of Carver, his niece Lisa (Lance) Pierce and his great-nephew Alex Pierce, all of Mayer, and his aunt Connie (Boquist) Lies. A Celebration of Lee’s Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday July 14, 2024 at the Litchfield Opera House, 136 N. Marshall Ave, Litchfield.
