I pasted a mirror to my bedroom wall. In no time at all, it came loose and fell down, leaving patches torn out of the wallpaper.

In the Meeker County Museum’s previous column, we set the stage for the G.A.R. Encampment held in Litchfield in 1889. This reunion of Civil War veterans was expected to be the biggest event the town had ever seen! The town was decorated from top to bottom, and food and lodging for thousands were prepared.

Once her Miss Litchfield duties conclude, Granlund, who turns 18 next week, will begin preparing for her future, which includes college at University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she will study sonography with the aim of pursuing a career as an ultrasound technician.
