WALTER C. FROEMMING JR.

 Walter C. Froemming Jr., 94, of Hutchinson passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Cokato Manor in Cokato. Funeral Service was held Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 1 p.m. at Hunters Ridge Community Church in Hutchinson with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.

 Walter Christian Froemming Jr. was born on August 9, 1930, in Hutchinson. He was the son of Walter and Thelma (Doring) Froemming Sr. Walter committed his life to Jesus Christ in his 20s and was baptized in 1954 as an adult at the North Side Baptist church in Hutchinson. He attended several county schools in his early years, before completing his education in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of Hutchinson High School, class of 1949.
 Walter entered active military service in the United States Army on July 9, 1952, in Glencoe and served his country during the Korean War. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 14, 1954, in Fort Sheridan, Ill., and achieved the rank of Corporal.
 On November 21, 1952, while he was on his first furlough in the Army, Walter was united in marriage to Kathryn Fratzke at Evangelical United Bethlehem Methodist Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with four children, Linda, Debra, Joel, and Jonathan. Walter and Kathryn resided in Brownton, Hutchinson, and Litchfield during their 71 years of marriage.
 After Walter returned from his military service, he and Kathryn farmed with Walter’s parents near Lake Hook. In November of 1956, Walter began his employment at 3M, becoming a supervisor in 1960. After 32 years of service, he retired on December 1, 1988, at the age of 58. Walter was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Hutchinson until 1997. He joined Cornerstone Church in 1998 at Litchfield while residing at Lake Minniebelle. In 2019, he moved back to Hutchinson and became a member of Hunters Ridge Community Church. Walter was a devoted man of faith in the Lord, and throughout his life, he served as a deacon, Sunday school superintendent, head usher and handed out Bibles for the Gideons.
 Walter enjoyed hunting, sports, gardening, woodworking and hosting fish-fries at their home on Lake Minnebelle. He cherished spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for the many hugs that he gave.
 Walter was a man that loved God, his wife, family and friends.
 Walter is survived by his wife, Kathryn Froemming of Hutchinson; children, Linda Muennich and her husband Fred of Prosper, Texas, Debbie Muennich and her husband Gary of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, Joel Froemming and his wife, Ruth of Cosmos, Jonathan Froemming and his wife Tamera of Yulee, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Muennich, Jared Muennich, Kayla (Tony) Meyer, Elijah (Tracy) Muennich, Aléa (Josh) Goulden, Nicole Froemming, Cassandra (Tyler) Brausen, Averee Froemming, Franki Ibarra; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild: brother, Russlie Froemming of Silver Lake; many other relatives and friends.
 Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Thelma Froemming Sr.; siblings: Gail (Froemming) Popp and her husband Willian Popp, John Froemming and his wife Joan, Gay (Froemming) Gloege and her husband Jim Gloege, James Froemming; sister-in-law, Sally Froemming.
 Our family would like to thank everyone for their loving thoughts and prayers. No individual thank you cards will be sent.
 The family invited everyone to wear Walter’s favorite color of pink.
