For most of us, writing a book is something that’s out of our comfort zone. According to former Hutchinson resident Ben Jenum, that’s not really true.
I spend many summer days with my great-niece, Lily, while her dad works 12-hour days. Lily turns 3 at the end of February. She is a fish, so we swim and play water games. We are happy mermaids, because I love to swim. Lily also is a monkey and climbs anything and everything. I do not follow her climbing antics. I keep both of my feet solidly on the ground while encouraging Lily to be brave and climb.
Almost a year after conditions at Litchfield Cemetery raised concern and sparked debate among city officials, safety and aesthetics have improved. Thanks to a convergence of passionate support from a pair of City Council members and the financial commitment from the city — along with the expertise of an outside company — about 60 headstones have been repaired.

The County Board agreed Tuesday to offer a contract to Grove City that sets law enforcement services at $30.75 per your for 2005 and $32 per hour for 2006 if the contract is extended to that date. The contract specifies that an increase in deputy salaries will not bring a boost in the hourly rate.
