CAROL ANN HUHNER

Carol Ann Huhner, 86, of Litchfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, September 27, 2024. A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Saturday October 5, 2024, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church in Litchfield with funeral to immediately follow. Carol Ann Huhner, the daughter of Anton and Helen (Schill) Haselberger, was born on January 4, 1938, in Marshfield, Wis. She grew up in Marshfield and received her education there, graduating from Marshfield Senior High in June 1954 (at the age of 16). On June 6, 1959, she was united in marriage to William Raphael Huhner. They lived in Watertown, Wis., Grundy Center, Iowa, LaGrange, Ill., Bloomington, Ill., and moved to Litchfield in August of 1969. Carol worked as an elementary secretary at Lake Ripley School for 25 years, retiring in March, 2003. She was a member of Church of St. Philip and belonged to Daughters of Isabella. She was an active participant in St. Philip’s School while her children attended school there. She was a member of the school board, she taught CCD classes and Sunday school. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, biking, playing bridge, reading and especially watching her grandchildren grow and never missed a sporting event. She is survived by her sons William B. Huhner and David A. (Angie) Huhner, all of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Macy (Nick) Kaml, Laney Huhner (and friend Logan) and Creighton Huhner. She is also survived by her brother Gordon Haselberger and nephew Mark Griffin. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William R. Huhner. Interment will be at St. Philip’s Catholic Cemetery. Following services at St. Philip’s Church, family and friends are invited to the social hall for a time of fellowship and lunch.

LORRAINE A. MATHESON

Lorraine A. Matheson, 77, of rural Litchfield passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, 11 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township, rural Hector, with private interment at a later date in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 4, 2024, 5 - 7 p.m. at Huhes Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. BARBARA JEAN LUNDBERG

Barbara Jean Lundberg was born March 5, 1947, to Arthur and Inez Stoltenow in Oakes, N.D. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church and attended school in Oakes until her family moved to Litchfield her freshman year of high school. She graduated with honors from Litchfield High School in 1965. She a t t e n d e d Moorhead State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education in 1969. It was there that she met the love of her life, Larry. During her summers, Barb worked at Yellowstone National Park, Madden’s in Brainerd and FargoLand Bank in West Fargo. She began her teaching career in Litchfield teaching 4th grade. On June 26, 1970, Barb was united in marriage to Larry Wayne Lundberg at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Litchfield and was blessed with two children, Jennifer and Erik. The couple moved to Chisago City and began working in the Chisago Lakes School District. Barb taught a combined 34 years in grades 4 and 5. Barb enjoyed reading, volunteering, church circle, wine club, camping, fishing, playing cards, traveling, shopping, and then shopping some more. She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins. She always looked forward to getting together with her many friends and cherished family gettogethers.
