The doors to Hutchinson’s new Cub Foods store, State Highway 15 South, opened Wednesday, Nov. 3, 1999. As part of the festivities, manager Glenn Woelfel, with the ribbon, and Mayor Marlin Torgerson, left of Woelfel, cut the ceremonial ribbon marking the store’s grand opening. Also on hand were officials from Super Valu, owner of Cub Foods, Coborn’s, owners of the local franchise, and members of the Hutchinson Area Chamber of Commerce, Hutchinson Community Development Corporation and city officials.
