Hannibal Regional Auxiliary Demonstrates Compassionate Giving
Through multiple special events and fundraisers, in 2024 Hannibal Regional Auxiliary was able to generously support Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. At their December meeting, the Auxiliary presented a check for $116,000.00 to Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, with the funds fulfilling their pledge of $600,000.00 to the Building Better Tomorrows campaign. The Building Better Tomorrows campaign raised funds to assist with major renovations and expansion projects. Funds allowed the healthcare system to increase surgical capacity, expand and improve critical care areas and invest in the future through updated delivery rooms.

Holy Rosary First Graders Shine in “Presentation of Saints”
On Tuesday, November 26, Holy Rosary School was filled with faith and excitement as Mrs. Groveâs first-grade class performed a âPresentation of Saints.â The special event welcomed students and parents to learn about the patron saints chosen by each student, showcasing a blend of creativity and spiritual discovery.

Monroe County Associate Cuicuit Judge recognized as 20 Under 40
Talley Smith, Associate Circuit Judge for Monroe County, was recently recognized with a 20 Under 40 award. The recognition highlights 20 individuals under age 40 for their dedication to making the tri-state area a better place. The Quincy Herald-Whig recognized 2024âs recipients of the 20 Under 40 award at a banquet on Thursday, November 21, 2024. Nominations for the award were reviewed by the Quincy and Hannibal Area Chambers of Commerce. Locally, Judge Smith is a member of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area Board, the Paris Rotary Club, and St. Stephenâs Catholic Church. Smith has previously served as a member of the Paris Public Education Foundation and the MU Extension Council Board. Professionally, Judge Smith is a member of the Juvenile Information Governance Commission, the Family Court Committee, and the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges and Commissioners.
