Hutchinson Kiwanis and friends visited the Adult Training and Habilitation Centers in Winsted and Hutchinson on Dec. 10. The group entertained staff and clients with Christmas carols and gifts donated by the nonprofit group. At Winsted, Santa Claus made a surprise appearance. Maplewood Academy provided a bus for transportation and a driver, Marshall Bowers.

Recycling Christmas trees is an annual project to benefit the environment. Recycling this renewable resource provides organic mulch and compost, so Christmas trees keep giving all year long.

Todayâs Women of Hutchinson hosted their first Jingle Jamboree Dec. 7 and reported it was a success. That said, this local nonprofit also sponsors photos with Santa Claus at the Hutchinson Mall. What set them apart from other organizations is that they offered photos with your pet. Smiling for his closeup with Santa is Rizzi, a member of the Dan and Susan Kieser family.

Curtis Henschke, 74, died Thursday, December 12, 2024, at his home in Hutchinson surrounded by his family. Memorial Services will be Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake with Pastor Dave Drager officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
