DONNA FINNEMAN

Donna Lucille Fogarty Finneman, 80, of Otsego passed away on June 7, 2025.
Born December 4, 1944, in West Bend, Iowa, Donna was the daughter of Philip (Ted) and Maragret (Helen) Fogarty. She grew up in a large, close-knit family, the sixth of 12 children know as Donna Lou Babe Sis. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Finneman; her parents; and siblings Joe, Colleen, Pat, Phyllis, Alice, and Tim.
Donna’s greatest pride was her three daughters, who she raised to be strong, independent and a little sassy. She was the rock and cornerstone of her family.
She dedicated 27 and a half years to a career in nursing, a role that suited her compassionate heart and steady hands. She spent most of her adult life in Litchfield before retiring to Otsego to be closer to her growing family – a choice that meant everything to her, and to them.
She was an avid quilter, reader, and caretaker at heart. Her hands were rarely still, stitching warmth and love into countless quilts – many of which were donated to families in need. But nothing brought her more joy than time with her family. Her grandchildren will fondly remember the many times they “got lost” with Grandma, an adventure that – somehow – always ended at the local Dairy Queen. Her signature Midwest expressions like “ishcream” and “worshing” live on as a cherished part of family lore.
Donna is survived by her loving daughters: Lora Magnuson of Monticello, Paula Magnuson of Rogers, and Karen (Patrick) Finneman Killinger of Rochester, her grandchildren: Danielle (Jeff) Dorn, Kylie Magnuson, Brenna (Chad) Bermel, Colton (Sydney) Magnuson, Dylan (Emily) Magnuson, Mackenzie Magnuson, Noah Magnuson, Sam (Allyson Shatek) Killinger, Jackson (Caroline Crutcher) Killinger, and Ella Killinger, nine treasured great-grandchildren; and her remaining siblings Teresa (Dale) Stephas, Jim (Diane) Fogarty, Tom (Mimi) Fogarty, Dan (Collene) Fogarty, and Bernie (John) Nelson .
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 13 at 3 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel, 300 North Main Street in St. Michael. All who knew and loved Donna are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Donna by simply paying it forward with kindnessa gesture she made often and with joy.
The Peterson Chapel St. Michael-Albertville Funeral Home is serving the family. Online condolences may be made to www.thepetersonchapel.com.
