Kent (Kenny) was born to William (Bill) and Margaret (Peg) Fuhrman on May 24, 1950. He has one older sister, Cherie (Bob) Olson, and two younger sisters, Linda R Fuhrman and Laurie (Howard) Koehn.
Kenny graduated from Litchfield High School in 1968, joined the U.S. Navy on his birthday in 1970 and later attended and graduated from St Cloud State University in 1978 with degrees in anthropology and geology. That same year, as he turned 28, he married his college sweetheart, Linda Joy, with whom he would spend the rest of his life. He and Linda began their marriage with Jennifer and Cristopher Kelly, children from Linda’s prior marriage. They would add daughter, Leah, in 1980.
His work years were spent working hard to help people conserve energy through analyzing and recommending home energy savings programs. He retired in 2015 and enjoyed his gardens, bicycling, and traveling until cancer proclaimed victory and he joined his parents and many family, friends and fur-friends, in a romp throughout the universe on December 8, 2024.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; his children, Jennifer Rasmussen, Cris Kelly, and Leah Fuhrman; five grandchildren: Jordan Rasmussen, Madison Portera, Bryn Rasmussen, Lochlyn Rasmussen, and Calysto Kelly; seven great-grandchildren: Levi, Jocelyn, Aeris and Thane Rasmussen and Charlotte, Thaddeus, and Magnus Portera. He is also survived by his three sisters Cheryl Olson, Linda R Fuhrman, and Laurie Koehn, and many nieces and nephews.
