Janet M. Lundin, 90, of Litchfield passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Ecumen of Litchfield. Memorial Service was Tuesday, July 9, 2024, 2 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with interment in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. She was the daughter of Albin and Myrtle (Ahlstedt) Lundin. Janet was baptized as an infant on September 10, 1933, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 15, 1947, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She received her education at District 59 Country School and was a graduate with American School in 1958. After high school, Janet resided in St. Paul for a short time and was employed at the Emporium. In 1961, she moved back to Litchfield.
Janet worked at the New Bakery until 1978. She then went on to work in the housekeeping and laundry department at Augusta Lutheran Homes (now Ecumen of Litchfield). Janet was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She was also a member of WELCA Ladies Aide, and the BREW “Coffee Club” at church. Janet enjoyed reading, embroidery, crafts, and collecting teacups. She also enjoyed taking pictures, traveling abroad, and going on bus tours. Janet cherished spending time with her family and friends. Blessed be her memory.
Janet is survived by her brother, Einar Lundin of Litchfield; sister-in-law, Darlene Lundin of Litchfield; 10 nephews; two nieces; many great-nephews and -nieces, great-great-nephews and -nieces, and other relatives and friends. Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Albin and Myrtle Lundin; brother in infancy; brothers, John Lundin, Karl Lundin; sisters-in-law, Delores Lundin, Blanche Lundin; great-nephews, Michael Lundin, Joel Lenhard.
