LORRAINE A. MATHESON

 Lorraine A. Matheson, 77, of Greenleaf Township, rural Litchfield, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Funeral Service was held Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township with private family interment at a later date in the church cemetery.

 Lorraine Audrey Matheson was born on April 19, 1947, at the family home in Melville Township, Renville County. She was the daughter of Herman and Myrtle (Pederson) Hopp. Lorraine was baptized as an infant at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township, rural Hector. She received her education in Cosmos and was a graduate of Cosmos High School, class of 1965.
 On October 31, 1965, Lorraine was united in marriage to Donald Matheson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookfield Township. This marriage was blessed with four children, Jacinda “Cindy”, Todd, Kristina, and Timothy. Lorraine and Donald resided in rural Litchfield. They shared 58 years of marriage.
 Lorraine was employed as a cook for Emmanuel Home in Litchfield for many years. She retired in 2005. Lorraine helped Donald with the hobby farm, raising and processing poultry. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and taught Sunday school.
 Lorraine enjoyed raising dogs, fishing, flower gardening, and playing cards. She especially enjoyed cooking, canning, and baking her famous pies. Lorraine cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

 Lorraine is survived by her husband Donald Matheson of rural Litchfield; children, Jacinda Walter and her husband Tim of Hutchinson, Kristina Garcia and her husband Eduardo of Buffalo, Timothy Matheson and his wife Sacia of Darwin;
grandchildren, Marrisa, Patrick, Jordan, Emma, Porter, Isaiah, Alex, Evan, Sierra, Andreas, Ava; great-grandson, Cylus Crosby; daughter-in-law, Nikki Matheson of Howard Lake; brothers, Russell Hopp and his wife Jan of New Mexico, Wesley Hopp and his wife Barbara of Greenleaf, Kevin Hopp and his wife Connie of Hugo; sisters-in-law, Dianne DeBates of Sioux Falls, S.D., Shirley Berry and her husband Charlie of Loveland, Colo.; poodles, Baby and Pierre; many other relatives and friends.
 Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Myrtle Hopp; son, Todd Matheson; brothers, Richard (Marcene) Hopp, Roger Hopp, Kenneth Hopp, Curtis Hopp.
