Anglers will hit lakes throughout the state this weekend as the Minnesota fishing opener begins Saturday. And all indications are that the season holds big possibilities on area lakes.
Three different pitchers worked in the circle Monday for Litchfield, and while they threw well, it wasn’t enough to record a win. New London-Spicer, 4-6, opened the scoring in the fifth inning, using two singles to push across one run, which all the Wildcats would need.
Litchfield’s boys track team won three events and finished top-three in nine more as it captured second place in the Central Minnesota Mega Meet Saturday at Sauk Rapids Middle School. Senior TJ Christensen led the way with first-place finishes in the shot put (55-feet-4) and discus (179-11).
